Well, Happy New Year, Anyway
If extraordinary changes at the last minute set the tone for the year ahead...
It is a brand-new year and no full-on editorial this week, as from time to time, we all need a break. Although this crossed our desk as the year waned…
Sam Bankman-Fried: Convicted 'Crypto King' will not face second trial. “According to the BBC, Prosecutors said the "strong public interest" in a resolution of their case against the former billionaire outweighed benefits of a second trial.”
Odd, we don’t recall seeing any poll results.
“He had faced six charges that had been separated from his first trial. These included campaign finance violations, conspiracy to commit bribery, and conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transmitting business.”
As @Cernovich bottom-lined it: SBF case generated too much publicity to be ignored. DOJ severed the campaign finance violations, which implicated Democrats, from the first trial. They declined to move forward with the second trial. No bribes will be made public. Mop up operation complete.
As we said, give us a break and a good idea to stay vigilant as we go onward and forward into the year ahead.
